Sergio Bustamante

This is one of my favorite stores in Tlaquepaque. As it turns out, they don't really want people taking photos inside, but fortunately I got some before the clerk noticed. These same motifs and people reappear in various forms and places, in similar sculptures, done in papier mache, on jewelry, on handbags, etc.

The exterior.

Closer view of one of the figures (In Search of Reason).

A mirror reflecting a typical character.

This sculpture is my favorite.

In the bathroom. They couldn't stop me from taking a picture in there. Yes, that's a big light well behind the sink and mirror.

I really, really wanted this horse statue.

There are installations of similar figures on ladders in some nice locations...you can see some if you put "Sergio Bustamante" in a google image search. I wish I'd gotten a picture of the store's courtyard and back yard. They had some really cool fountains.
